Saccharine and Sunlight

Textile Type

Impasto/Textured Art

Date

Winter 2025

Location

Colorado

A study of sweetness, warmth, and the delicate ache of joy.

Saccharine and Sunlight is an exploration of how light touches the world — not as something blinding, but as something tender. Each piece in this series captures the moment where color turns to comfort and brightness becomes memory.

The textures are thick with feeling — flowers caught mid-bloom, sunlight suspended like syrup. The brushwork balances between softness and intensity, blurring the line between pleasure and overwhelm. It’s about beauty that lingers — too sweet, too bright, almost too much — and yet, we reach for it anyway.

This body of work transforms familiar symbols of happiness — flowers, golds, creams, blush tones — into layered reflections on longing, contentment, and recovery. Every stroke glows with the kind of light that doesn’t erase the past, but makes peace with it.
